The FA-FPT is an autonomous and independent organization. Stands for ‘Fédération Autonome de la Fonction Publique Territoriale’ (Autonomous Federation of the Territorial Public Service). Its objectives aim at improving the conditions under which French municipal police officers and staff under the authority of the services of Municipal Police can perform their activities. Beyond its human objectives, municipal police officers from the FA-FPT defend the existence of a Municipal Police close to inhabitants, interactive and integrated in the city life.
The municipal police is a police force dedicated to citizens, a day-to-day police, which, in a balanced partnership with state police forces, guarantees a high level of competences and professionalism carried out in full respect of the laws and regulations in force, in order to provide a genuine public police service close to citizens. Municipal police officers from the FA FPT pays great attention to the use and implementation of the most up-to-date and the most suitable tools for municipal police functions and links that they can create with citizens to improve the way questions are answered. We are recognized by our partners as a benchmark organization with expertise in the local public security and are as such often consulted in this area.
