The Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) carries out research, design and micro-production in electronics, mechanics, optics, informatics, applied mathematics and communications. Our research and development is tuned to an education and training process, in order to increase efficiency and performance, and achieve excellence in science and technology. The Institute cooperates with public or private institutions authorized and licensed according to the law and promotes its topics of interest by means of the National Plan for Research, Development and Innovation. Among the research projects of the Advanced Technology Institute are those part of national programs such as Horizon 2000, Relansin, Security or CEEX – Research of Excellence.
The main types of products and services offered by the Advanced Technology Institute are the following: communications and electronic data protection by means of encryption methods, TEMPEST classified information protection, radio-communications equipment, data and voice communication equipment and systems, optical devices and video communication systems, mechanical devices and sub-assemblies, physical protection and access control systems and devices and equipment for the prevention and countering of terrorism.
The Institute also hosts TEMPEST assessment and cryptography laboratories authorized by the National Registry Office for Classified Information.
The Advanced Technology Institute is part of the Romanian Intelligence Service. The main beneficiaries of products and services provided by ATI are Romanian Intelligence Service and other institutions from The National Defense, Public Order, and National Security System.
