The CITYCoP project just organized its Final Event in the city of Florence, to present its main results and achievements to the public, as well as live demonstrations of the technological solution for community policing developed by the project, the SecureU mobile application and back-end. SecureU was piloted in five cities (Florence, Lisbon, Bucharest, Dublin and Kildare) which all had the opportunity to share their experience during the event.
The event’s first day, hosted in Salone de’ 500 in Palazzo Vecchio, gave an in-depth view of the CITYCoP system. Practical demonstrations of the SecureU mobile application and the back-end were given along the day as well as an insight in the training modules that have been applied in the pilot cities to implement the system.
The second day focussed instead on the academic research carried out by project partners on different aspects of community policing. Participants were invited to dive into the different aspects of community policing with field experts through a number of panels sessions that touched different topics, from community policing associations, to cybercrime, to privacy.
The event was overall attended by more than 150 participants who enjoyed and animated the sessions and gave a very positive feedback on the project results and reached impacts.
